What Feinwerk Campaigns does

For Owners, Admins, Editors, Viewers and agencies 2 minutes Updated November 2026

Feinwerk Campaigns is the shared place where a company, its agencies and its tracking provider plan campaigns, build links, check landing pages and find results. This article shows the building blocks and the order in which you usually use them.

The building blocks

  • Naming convention: The company decides once how source, medium and campaign may be named. Every value is checked against it when a link is built.
  • Campaigns: A campaign bundles briefing, period, websites, channels, targets (KPIs) and its links.
  • Links & QR: The link builder assembles tracking links according to your convention. QR codes are made from them.
  • Checks: When a link is created, the platform checks the landing page: reachable, parameters still present after redirects, certificate valid.
  • Tracking: The tracking inventory lists what is measured on a website. With requests you ask the tracking team for additions.
  • Results: Visits and goal conversions per campaign and link when Matomo is connected. Without Matomo there are no visit figures. Clicks and scans of short links are added as soon as short links can be used Coming soon .

Short links and dynamic QR codes Coming soon cannot be used yet because the short domain has not been chosen. Static QR codes already work.

The usual way

  1. An Admin sets up the workspace and adds the websites.
  2. An Admin reviews the naming convention and the channels.
  3. The company invites its team and its agencies.
  4. An Editor or an agency creates a campaign.
  5. Links are built, checked and activated.
  6. Once every item of the start checklist is done, the campaign becomes Ready to start and can go Live.

Example

Lindenholz Küchen plans its autumn promotion for www.lindenholz.example. The agency Nordlicht Media builds the link for the newsletter header. The platform assembles utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign according to the convention and adds its own code (utm_id). Messbar Analytics, the tracking provider, sees the request for the contact form and implements it.

Matomo is optional. The platform is useful without it. With Matomo you also get visits and goal conversions per link.

The platform never places a tracking code on your websites. It only creates links, checks pages and documents.
