CSV import and export
With the CSV import you create many links at once or adopt existing ones. Before anything is created you see a check report. The export gives you your links as a file for spreadsheets. The roles that create links can import. Anyone who sees Links & QR can export.
Import links
- Open the campaign, the tab Links, and choose Import links from CSV.
- Under What does the file contain?, choose New links to be created as drafts or Existing links to be adopted.
- Use Download the template to get the matching template and fill it in.
- Choose the CSV file and then Check file.
- Read the report: "x of y rows are valid, z rows will be skipped". Every invalid row is listed with Line and the reason.
- Choose Create the valid links.
For new links the columns are website, target_url, placement, the names of your fields such as source and medium, and short_link and slug. For existing links the columns are website, url and placement. The file needs a header row. Separators are semicolon, comma or tab, the encoding UTF-8 or Windows-1252. At most 1,000 rows and 2 MB are allowed. A campaign can hold at most 1,000 links, imports included.
Export links
Open Links & QR, filter if you like and choose Export as CSV. The file contains campaign, code, status, website, placement, the parameters, target URL, finished address, short link as well as clicks, scans and the creation date. Clicks and scans are totals over all time. The column headers of the file are English keys such as campaign_name, code and clicks.
Example
Nordlicht Media imports 40 newsletter links for Lindenholz Küchen. Row 12 names a source that does not exist. The report shows "39 of 40 rows are valid, 1 row will be skipped". The agency creates the 39 links and requests the missing source.
Nothing is created before you have seen the check and confirmed it. The checked file stays valid for 30 minutes, after that you upload it again.
In the column short_link, ja, yes, 1 and x are accepted. As long as short links
Coming soon
cannot be used, the link is created without a short link. Identical rows in one file are rejected as repetitions.
