Map channels
A Channel is the group in which reports summarize campaigns, for example Paid Search, E-Mail or Print. Every Medium belongs to exactly one channel. An Admin of the workspace manages channels. Editors pick them in the campaign.
The prepared channels
A new workspace has nine channels: Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, Video, E-Mail, Print, Affiliate, Referral and Organic Social. The media of the standard convention are already assigned, for example email to the channel E-Mail and print to the channel Print.
Step by step
- Open Naming convention under settings and go to the section Channels.
- New channel? Enter the name under New channel and choose Add channel.
- Change the order with Move up and Move down.
- Rename changes a name. Campaigns keep their channel, only the name changes.
- New medium? When you add it with Add value, choose the Channel of the medium. For a value request, the Admin chooses the channel when accepting.
- In the campaign, choose under Channels which channels it runs in.
Example
Lindenholz Küchen distributes brochures. The Admin adds the medium prospekt with the label "Prospekt" and assigns it to the existing channel Print. Links with the medium prospekt then appear in reports in the same channel as those with the medium print.
The channel of a link follows from its medium. Whoever builds the link does not choose it separately.
A channel that is still in use cannot be deleted. A channel name is limited to 60 characters and may appear only once.
